News Trading Strategy: Pending Orders on M1

January 22, 2026

This strategy is designed to capture the explosive volatility caused by major macroeconomic releases like Non-Farm Payrolls or GDP. It avoids guessing the direction by placing Buy Stop and Sell Stop pending orders minutes before the news, allowing the market momentum to trigger the correct entry.

1. Preparation

Select high-impact news (NFP, CPI, GDP) for major pairs. 2-3 minutes before the release, analyze the M1 chart.

  • Buy Stop: Place at the High of the last 10-15 minutes (min. 8 points away).
  • Sell Stop: Place at the Low of the last 10-15 minutes (min. 8 points away).

2. Execution & Management

When the news is released, one order should trigger:

  • Stop Loss: 3-4 spreads away from the entry price (tight risk).
  • Take Profit: 80-90 points, or trail the price manually as it spikes.
  • Cleanup: Immediately delete the untriggered pending order.
