This strategy is a classic trend-following system that combines volatility (Bollinger Bands), momentum (MACD), and trend direction (Smoothed MA). It is designed for the M15 timeframe to capture short-term market bursts while filtering out false signals in ranging markets.

1. Indicator Configuration

To replicate this setup on MT4/MT5, apply these indicators:

  • Bollinger Bands: Period 20, Deviation 2, Shift 0. (Green lines).
  • Smoothed Moving Average (SMMA): Period 2, Shift 0. (Orange line).
  • MACD: Fast EMA 11, Slow EMA 27, SMA 4.

2. Long Entry (Buy) Rules

A high-probability Buy signal occurs when:

  1. The Orange SMMA (2) crosses the middle band of the Bollinger Bands from below to above.
  2. Confirmation: The MACD histogram must be positioned below the zero line but showing upward momentum (contraction).

3. Short Entry (Sell) Rules

A high-probability Sell signal occurs when:

  1. The Orange SMMA (2) crosses the middle band of the Bollinger Bands from above to below.
  2. Confirmation: The MACD histogram must be positioned above the zero line but showing downward momentum.

Stop Loss (SL)

12-16 points (pips) from entry, depending on pair volatility.
